The Asia and the Pacific Regional Seminar on the Contribution of development to the Enjoyment of all Human Rights for everyone is the final in a series of five global seminars that the UN Human Rights Council has requested the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to organize in order to look at the nexus between development and human rights.
Pursuant to Human Rights Council Resolution 47/11 of 12 July 2021, five regional seminars were mandated to discuss the contribution of development to the enjoyment of all human rights. This seminar series focuses on issues pertaining to international cooperation, commitment to ending poverty, and regional development strategies. Each two-day seminar has two region-specific thematic focuses. This series builds on a one-day intersessional held on 28 May 2021. A report with the conclusions and recommendations of the series will be presented to the UN Human Rights Council in September 2023.
More information about the regional seminars series is available on the OHCHR webpage.
