In Bangladesh, women’s right to clean air starts in the kitchen
While the constitution and the courts of Bangladesh recognize that the right to life encompasses the right to clean air, the implementation and enforcement of this right remain a challenge. In Ghagotpada in northern Bangladesh women are playing a critical role in beating air pollution, not only by changing to clean fuel and clean cookstoves at home but also by continuing to spread the word and changing minds.
