Note

Following pre-registration, participation in the event will be subject to an approval and registration process. Please note that we will try to accommodate individuals and organizations that support environmental defenders, but priority will be given to creating a space of dialogue for the direct participation of environmental defenders in Asia and the Pacific.

The 2nd Asia-Pacific Environmental Human Rights Defenders (EHRDs) Forum will be held on 25-27 October 2022 with an aim to support the vital role of environmental human rights defenders as champions of a just and sustainable future. The forum will provide a safe space for environmental defenders and their allies to discuss successes, challenges and priorities for the Asia-Pacific region.

The event is jointly organized by United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Regional Offices for South-East Asia and the Pacific; United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific; Faculty of Law, Thammasat University in Thailand; Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP); Asian Research Institute for Environmental Law (ARIEL), Asia Pacific Network of Environmental Defenders (APNED); Diplomacy Training Program (DTP); EarthRights International; and FORUM-Asia. The forum will be held both online and in-person in English language.
